ABC’s of Zoning Workshop When: Wednesday, December 2, 2015 6:30pm-8:30pm Where: Seminole Heights Library 4711 N. Central Ave. Rm 123 B Please join the Greater Seminole Heights Neighborhood and Civic Associations for the “ABC’s of Zoning Workshop” presented by Gloria Moreda, Manager of Land Development Coordination for the City of Tampa.  The session will cover general zoning regulations in the Seminole Heights area and the alcohol beverage special use process.  Cathy Coyle, the Planning and Urban Design Division Manager, will also be appearing to discuss proposed changes to the Seminole Heights regulations and the neighborhood feedback she has received. OSHNA Porch Parties

Hey Seminole Heights people, are you ready for a porch party? We know you want food, drink and fun with your neighbors from the Seminole Heights area. Let me jump right into the details: The porch parties will be every 3rd Saturday starting at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome! Bring a dish to share and your beverage of choice. Commissioner Les Miller’s Commitment to the Heights

Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association would like to thank everyone who came out to the I-275 and I-4 expansion vote.  Your voices were heard and commitments were made to our neighborhoods.  There is still a lot to do to ensure the best possible outcome for our neighborhood.  Below is Commissioner Les Miller comments at the meeting and his commitment to us.  We are coming up with a plan to ensure FDOT will comply Commissioner Miller’s requests while keeping all parties accountable for their promises to the Tampa Bay Communities. Commissioner Miller’s Comments THIS IS A DIFFICULT ISSUE. I AM 64 YEARS OLD AND I WAS BORN IN TAMPA ON 18TH AVENUE RIGHT OFF OF 22ND STREET. MY WIFE, GRANDMOTHER OWNED A HOME ON 13TH AVENUE RIGHT OFF OF 22ND STREET. YOU FIGURE THAT AGE THAT WAS BEFORE ANY INTERSTATE CAME THROUGH OR ANY URBAN REMOVAL. WHEN THE INTERSTATES DID COME THROUGH IN THE 1960’S, THERE WERE NO PUBLIC HEARINGS, PEOPLE COULDN’T COME DOWN AND TALK AND THAT INTERSTATE CAME RIGHT DOWN IN FRONT OF MY WIFE’S MOTHERS HOME AND THEY HAD TO LOOK AT THE INTERSTATE BEING BUILT.
