Speak Up About The Land Development Code!

Tampa Forward is excited to announce the release of the Land Development Code Assessment .

The City of Tampa has officially launched Tampa Forward: Building Tomorrow Together, a two-year project to update the City’s Land Development Code (LDC).

We need to hear from YOU! Your feedback is critical to moving this project forward together. Share feedback here , OSHNA encourages you to register and attend the event on Monday, March 3rd to make your voice heard.

Join your neighbors on March 13th for the Tampa Downtown Partnership's Bike To Work day. Group A1 (that's us) will meet at 7:15 a.m. at Rivercrest Park in South Seminole Heights and travel to a rally at Lykes Gaslight Park downtown.

For just $10 a year—or $25 for businesses—you help your neighborhood association represent neighbors' interests with the city, provide outreach to local businesses and organizations, and keep these newsletters flowing!

This Month In OSHNA History

Happy St. Valentine's Day! It was this month 110 years ago that the Tampa Times wrote about our involvement in the Gasparilla parades. Seminole Heights being one of the most "wideawake communities in Florida" is again throwing us for a loop as to whether it's intended as a compliment, an insult, or if it's just how they said "woke" back then. We don't know why "there" is in scare quotes, though, and that leads to some more interesting considerations.

We're sure the costuming and dramatic re-enactments weren't problematic at all, though again the kicker of this piece describes us as "thoroughly alive" which truly makes one wonder how sleepy and/or dead everyone else in the state of Florida must have been at the time.

Hosting the monthly OSHNA Porch Party is one of the easiest and most fun ways to get involved in the neighborhood. With the Neighborhood Involvement Committee volunteers handling most of the arrangements, they aren't much work, either! To sign up to host, check out the link to the form in the button below.
