Porch Party Hosts Needed!

HomeTour Art 2010

We're always collecting names and addresses for people who are interested in featuring their home on a future home tour. Ask anyone who's done it, and they'll tell you it's a fantastic experience. We're working on filling out our dance card for several years into the future, so let us know when you might be able to shine as one of OSHNA's diamonds.

Stormwater Project Update

Florida Avenue

  • Work has begun on Florida Avenue with one lane closure. Crews poured the last of six (6) stormwater inlet openings on January 23, 2024, and work is expected to be completed by February 8, 2024.
  • The final layer of asphalt will begin two (2) weeks after inlet tops are approved by FDOT.

Frierson Avenue

  • Crosswalk additions at Florida Avenue will take place in February 2024.

Caracas Street West of I-275

  • The guard rail will not be installed for some time as the contractor for the I-275 work needs to maintain access from this street.

Central Avenue south of Hillsborough Avenue

  • The street signs have been ordered and will be installed as soon as they arrive in the next few weeks.
  • Rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB’s) have been ordered for the Wilder Avenue crosswalk and will be installed as soon as they arrive, which is anticipated the first week of February 2024.
  • Most of the permanent striping has now been installed and will be completed at night over the first of February 2024.
  • Final signs and striping will take place in February 2024.

Central Avenue north of Hillsborough Avenue

  • We received clearance from the Department of Health on September 11th for the newly installed water main from Hillsborough Avenue to Henry Avenue, and from Hanna to Paris and on Paris itself. The contractor has connected the new water mains between Hanna Avenue and Paris Street.
  • Work to the south of Hanna Avenue has been paved to the church entrance. The work at Paris Street is currently awaiting clearance by FDEP.
  • The water main is in the FDEP clearance phase and once it is cleared and activated, the contractor will continue with installing the new watermain between Henry Avenue and Paris Street.
  • The contractor is awaiting FDEP clearance for the water main on the eastside of Central Avenue, once the newly installed watermains are activated, the contractor will decommission the old watermain, remove and replace the curb inlets. The old water main was running through these inlets, preventing the contractor from replacing them until the new water main was put into service.

Hanna Avenue

  • All utility work on Hanna Avenue is complete. Final striping will take place in February. Work has halted on the 30″ storm pipe installation going east of Nebraska Avenue and will resume at a later date.
